Phil Ivey has been labeled as the greatest poker competitor on the planet by most of the top professionals. Phil Ivey was born in Riverside, CA and moved to Jersey before reaching the age of 1. His papa taught Phil one cent-ante 5-Card Stud poker. From then on on, he was hooked on poker and wanted to discover every little thing he could about poker. Phil routinely told his grandparents that he wanted to be a professional poker player. Phil did not let the adverse feedback from other people destroy his dream of becoming one of the greatest poker competitors on the planet.

He began competing seriously after getting a fake ID by the name of Jerome. He honed his abilities at the casinos in Atlantic City. The first number of years for him were a teaching opportunity and winning was not a regular thing at the time. Phil became known at the 2000 World Series of Poker when he made 2 final tables and came away with his 1st WSOP bracelet, in a $2, 500 Pot-Limit Omaha event. At the last table he destroyed a number of the better known professionals which includes "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.

Phil made a decision to take his skills to the successive level and headed out west to Sin City. He continues to participate in in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the greatest players on the planet. Ivey credits his achievements to discipline and an eternal passion for poker. Phil states that he’s picking up skills every day and is incredibly humble about his achievements. He admits to making mistakes every single session of poker and constantly aspires to get better.

Despite the fact that Phil has come first in some big-time tournaments, he likes winning cash games on a regular basis.
