Have you seen the new PokerPro texas hold’em poker tables? The first time I saw the PokerPro tables was about 2 weeks ago when I took a brief vacation with my wife to the WinStar Casino in Oklahoma.

As I anxiously waited for my name to be acknowledged at the live tables, I noticed how the other persons around the PokerPro tables relate with one another. It was quite fascinating to say the least. Since the poker table was computer driven, there have been no clay poker chips to do any chip tricks, no cards to shuffle and the real live experience was stagnant. Perhaps I was the only one that noticed this, but I did notice the players on the table had a dull quality to them. The reason for this may well be because there was no human interaction with the dealer, the atmosphere was rather boring and the gamblers looked tired. It was nearly as if I was seeing a live version of an internet hold’em poker room instead of sitting with warm bodied humans. It was a tiny bit freaky and I kept flashing back to an episode of ST:TNG and the holodeck malfunctioned.

Since the waiting time for the are living tables was over an hour, I made the decision to see how the casino game play was and to understanding this new texas hold’em poker gaming technologies. After betting a few hands, I truly felt like I was wagering at residence. The lack of activity in the table was the primary reason. I prefer to stack and shuffle my chips, and mix my cards around. None of those things are possible at these digital tables.

Another thing I observed was how the computer dealt the flop, turn and river cards. I wagered a whole lot of hands on the PokerPro table and noticed that the bet on was a lot like a web based texas holdem poker site. That could have been just a coincidence, but I discovered it to become very odd.

Soon after betting a couple of rounds with this "new holdem poker technology", I decided that the PokerPro tables have been not for me. I’m much better off betting hold em poker on the web at home and not travel the distance. If WinStar Gambling den had been to have rid of the live poker tables, I think they’d loose a lot of gamblers.
