Seems like most individuals are generally talking about pre-flop system, so I wanted to speak a tiny bit about how I wager on soon after the flop. Perhaps I can support others, or maybe they’ve got advice to improve my play.

I consider that two of the most significant plays soon after the flop are the semi-bluff and the defensive bet. Which is because these are the plays you make when you havent hit a hand except you’ve a fine drawing hand. Its easy to wager on a hand once you flop a monster. But I believe that these 2 are the greatest approaches to wager on a drawing. Each one is bet depending on you opponent(s) and your postion. So here is how I bet on it, so tell me what you think.

Early Location – Tight Opponents:

A semi-bluff works fairly properly in this position. Arrive out wagering and if a tight gambler didn’t hit a hand he’ll probably lay down, and if he’s unsure you may obtain a call. Except watch out, if that tight gambler comes back more than the best it may well be time to receive away.

Early Location – Loose Competitors

This is were I like to do a defensive bet. Come to a decision how several chips you’re willing to chance on your draw and wager. This is normally a much smaller wager than normal. It has been my understanding that the loose player will usually just call a bet instead of re-raise. On the other hand, should you check to them, theyre more likely to throw in far more chips than your willing to pay.

Late Placement – Tight Opponents

That is the ideal time to perform a semi-bluff, particularly if most of the table checks. If that’s the case you will probaly pick up the pot now. If a player before has wager, you’ve to come to a decision if he has a hand or not. If not, then reraise and he will most likely go away since he was attempting to steal the pot. When you consider he does, properly then it is time to calculate your odds, and come to a decision if the pot odds are worth the call.

Late Place – Loose Opponents

This one is often a bit challenging, simply because it’s more difficult to put a loose gambler on a hand. And if your in late position against loose gambler, odds are they’ve already wager. This is were I usually determine to take a chance and come back over the best of them and pray they do not call, and if they do, nicely then its time to gamble. Odds are although even a loose gambler will go away in case you appear back strong enough.

Don’t forget though that these are moves I only make soon after the flop comes and I have a decent drawing hand (usually not a gutshot either). Maybe 4 to the flush or the open ended straight, for instance.
