Phil Ivey has been branded as the best poker player in the world by most of the top pros. Phil Ivey was born in Riverside, CA and moved to Jersey before reaching turning one. His papa taught him one cent-ante 5-Card Stud poker. From that point on, he was addicted to poker and wished to pickup every little thing he could about poker. Phil would tell his grandparents that he was going to be a professional poker player. He didn’t let the negative feedback from other people annihilate his goal of being one of the strongest poker competitors in the world.

He began competing intently after acquiring a fake ID with the name of Jerome. He sharpened his abilities at the casinos of Atlantic City. The first number of years for Phil were a teaching opportunity and coming away with a win was not a common outcome at the time. Phil became known at the 2000 World Series of Poker where he made two final tables and won his first WSOP bracelet, in a two dollar, 500 Pot-Limit Omaha match. At the closing table he destroyed a number of the well known professionals including but not limited to "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.

Phil made a decision to take his skills to the successive level and moved out west to Las Vegas. Phil continues to play in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the greatest players on the planet. Phil credits his success to dedication and a continuing love for poker. He states that he is picking up skills every day and is incredibly abashed about his accomplishments. He knows he makes blunders in each game of poker and always strives to improve.

Even though Phil has won some big tournaments, he favors destroying money games on a regular basis.
